Tracy Morgan expressed his gratitude for being able to attend Saturday Night Live's 50th-anniversary celebration after surviving a tragic accident in 2014. The accident, caused by a Walmart truck driver who had been awake for 28 hours, left Morgan in a coma and resulted in the death of his collaborator James McNair. Despite facing an arduous recovery process, Morgan is thankful for being alive and able to participate in such a milestone event. The Walmart driver accepted a plea deal and Walmart settled with Morgan and McNair's children, with reports of a $90 million settlement for Morgan being refuted by his attorney. Morgan, who was a cast member on SNL from 1996 to 2003, reflected on his time on the show and shared the backstory behind a memorable line he delivered during Jamie Foxx's monologue in 2000. The SNL50: The Anniversary Special, where Morgan shared his sentiments, aired on NBC and Peacock on Feb. 16.
