Ukrainian Military Expert Suggests Invading Western Russia for Strategic Advantage

Ukraine's top military expert Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko has suggested Kyiv should consider invading western Russia to take advantage of the current turmoil, bypassing Russian defence installations on the 620-mile-long front line in eastern and southern Ukraine. Romanenko suggested that conventional moves are less effective and encouraged unconventional efforts, adding that "those who make unorthodox decisions and implement them will succeed".

While Kyiv is trying to figure out its next steps, average Ukrainians are less optimistic about the unfolding situation and concern has been raised about the exodus of millions of refugees, as well as the possibility of the use of nuclear weapons.
