Wagner Chief Provokes Armed Mutiny in Russia, Investigation Launched

Russian authorities have opened a criminal probe into calls to stage an “armed mutiny” after Yevgeny Prigozhin, chief of the Wagner private military firm, accused Russia of targeting his forces with deadly missile strikes and vowed to retaliate, calling on Russians to join his forces. Ukraine has clamped down on information concerning the Russian invasion, claiming that thousands of Russian troops have been killed fighting in their territory and that the conflict has burned through Russian reserves, targeting naval assets and driving others underground to regroup.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has denied all of these claims.
